Lightning grants
There’s no deadline for a rapid-response “Lightning” grant. Lightning grants are for up to $2,000, though most are for less. Lightning grants are for immediate needs, such as special one-time or unplanned expenses. Lightning grants go to organizations that fit our Grants for Change guidelines.
To get a Lightning grant, send a short email to info@maineinitiatives.org telling us:
- who your organization is and what it does.
- how much you’re requesting.
- what the money is for.
- if you’re not tax-exempt, who your tax-exempt sponsor is.
We’ll do our best to give you an answer within ten days and a check within twenty.
We spend down Lightning grant dollars over the course of the year. There is now $2,000 available for Lightning grants.
